Footy Simulator Season Recap

As the world watched Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar last month, our simulated World Cup, hosted by USA, was played here. The host Americans very nearly shocked the sim world, going all the way to the finals before being defeated by Italy 3-2 in extra time.Argentina, incidentally, was eliminated in the round of 16 by Sweden. Third and fourth spots were claimed by Brazil and England respectively. In other sim competitions,Mexico upset Germany to capture Nations Cup Premier division, while the Divsion A and B titles went to Ivory Coast and Jordan. In Davis Cup play, Italy nearly made it a double for the season but they fell to Brazil in the final match. Belgium and France took the next two spots. Regional Davis Cup winners were Switzerland in Europe (their second straight such victory) Brazil in the Americas and Nigeria in Africa. Next season kicks off Feb. 1 featuring Regional Cup action. Hosting the finals will be the Czech Republic, Paraguay, Tunisia and Australia.
